I Can Finally Check That Off The Ol' Bucket List (Silver Bicentennial Half)...

I've been hunting for a long time and gone through hundreds of half dollar boxes. Today was the first time ever that I found a 40% silver bicentennial half dollar. That's right, a silver 1976 S, just let loose in the wild and recaptured again today. Good stuff.

This was a great way to end an 18 box skunk streak!

I also found three other 40%ers in the same box.

I found my first yesterday! I bought an envelope full of halves from a teller and as she was counting them on the counter it was right on top of the pile. I was thinking to myself, boy that bicentennial sure looks strange, never thinking that I would finally find one!

I knocked that one off my list a few weeks ago, I found a 1970d, oddly enough, it broke my 10+ box skunk streak. of course every box since then have basically been skunks with the exception of 2 40%ers, 1 found in 2 boxes.

I got my 70S, just need that 76 S!!!!!! And barber, and walker ender, Booker T would be sweet too... then I think im good besides maybe a 70 or barber ender :P lol

It's funny that the 70-S has a higher mintage than the 70-D. Personally I'm still looking for the silver commemorative halves. I hope you find your next ones on your list!! HH
