Well, I'm not actually from Nantucket, but I've lived here for 12 years, so I have solid wash-a-shore status.

I had a Garrett detector as a kid in California, and have been dying to get back into the hobby for years... There just never seemed to be the time. Well, I tired of waiting, and after lurking on the site for a couple months, I've just purchased a used CZ-20 and a new AT Pro for me and my wife.
And hope to be swing them both by next weekend.

I mainly plan to hunt the beaches, but I also have some friends that own houses out here, so hopefully a couple will let me have a wander around their yards!

Most of the land out here is privately owned accept for the beaches which are all public, so we will be mainly at the beach and low tide wading the harbor. Should be a week before the machines get here... Can't wait!

Way back in the day, I mainly hunted the schools in my area, and found clad coins and a couple cheap kids silver rings. I'm hoping the island gives up a couple treasures...

Welcome and good luck !! You are in a nice early historical area for the U.S. I'm sure there are a lot of early relics and coins on that island. There are a few across the sound on the big island who have been doing well on the early stuff.
