I am not into making New Year's resolutions...

But I have a good one in mind for next year. I am just going to HAVE to
get off my duff, or, rather get on my duff, and start doing some research!!! LOL

Don't get me wrong. It's been a really fun year and some of my finds were stupendous!
It's just that I am starting to get a little more than bored with what my hunting habits
have become. I keep opting for familiar places that I have frequented off and on all year long!

They are all clad factories with an occasional surprise. But, as someone put it just recently. ANYONE
can find clad! All that clad I've been getting has bought a few niceties for me throughout the year. But
I used to be pretty good at researching. Found a LOT of nice old things! I've just gotten too lazy when it
comes to the "work" part of this hobby.

Now, with all that said, on with the clad show! :)

I'd say the '39 penny lasted better than the '79 dollar! LOL

Fishy has a new toy.

Blingie a new bling.

So, I guess, another successful hunt. :dontknow:

Thanks for peeking!

I'm really liking this new train of thought, and thinking I might have to get on board!

My resolution this year will be to not make any resolutions. Except maybe to spel better.

The first step in solving the problem is identifying it. Now that it's been I.D.'d get out and get a few new permissions. There comes a time when the great finds peter out of comfy local sites. I occasionally hit some comfy sites when weather dictates or the gut isn't pointing me in a definite direction. Looks like you had a great hunt. I see more keepers in your future. :coffee2:

I'm not into Traditions.
If it is considered a "Tradition" it is like being a sheep & following the flock.
So nope, Not me. Never !

Any-Who ... Nice herd of Coins as Usual !

I totally need to do the same thing. Need some new ground. As soon as the snow starts piling up and work slows down a little (if it ever does) that is what I'll do. Maybe you can remind me. Lol

This hobby will turn you into a history buff. JefffofPa changed my way of thinking when it comes to research.

That's just it, for you see, in a younger day, I would consume VOLUMES of history! From that I would find some very, very interesting spots. But, since I got back in the hobby, I was much older and lazier! I do this for fun, but I KNOW finding those old coins would be much more fun, for me.

I think I understand, Jeff. But, what does "Tradition" have to do with resolving to change my lazy ways? :icon_scratch:

just said it because New Year's resolutions are a tradition.
and you mentioned New Year's resolutions :tongue3:

I resolve to do things occasionally too, But never on new years :unhappysmiley:

Nice finds!
We all could do better.
I believe the word is " selective". We have to be more focused on prime detecting spots.
This past year I decided to hunt more tot lots...I did, and it wasn't "more" productive.
I need to be more selective, and probably more outside my comfort zone.

Resolutions means Resolve. I resolve to find more silver this year. Congrats on your finds!

Me neither, that's why I just made mine now. ;)

Well, no....I have to disagree. Unless one is trying to put food on the table with this "hobby",
they really shouldn't work at being outside their comfort zone. This, to the hobbyist, is supposed to be fun! LOL

I hope you aren't like I was a few decades ago when I was going to " quit " smoking. I would throw a pack of cigarettes out the window, deciding I had enough. 10 or 12 miles down the road, I was pulling into a store to buy another pack:BangHead:.

Possibly, but sometimes you have to shake the the tree if you want the fruit to fall...don't forget to duck! Lol!

Oh, I doubt it. Next time we meet, remind me to tell you about addiction and sinus cold medicine sprays. LOL

This thing about research is really kind of strange cuz, you see, I actually LOVED to do the research! Just got away from doing.

To hear you tell it, if you shook a tree, it would fall over on you. ;) LOL

Hey Whadi, We are all creatures of habit & continue to go to the same places. Just start doing your research, find the old places, & you will continue to go back to them. The only difference, is when you return to the old places, you will continue to find the old stuff. Research does pay off, & as a result I don't find very many clad coins anymore. I am also blessed to live in the farm belt of Illinois where I have many connections, & great places to hunt.

The right Reverend Subby Terranan says, "" Your resolution is the solution to the institution of soil pollution." Can I get an "Amen?" Whadi, I am right there with you, I also need to get to new happy hunting grounds, for I have strip-mined my usual spots long enough! Lets all have a great new year! Sub 8-)

You guys act like the year is over. Heck it is just getting going for me :)

3 weeks to go..

I know, had to rub it in..
