I am finally back, need help with silver ring (UPDATE)

but anyways, i found this ring with a root growing through it, it is silver (has the 925 mark on it), i am just curious of its age and what type of ring it may be. I found it on Nantucket MA if that helps at all

Judging by the pics, it looks like a ring inside of the ring . . .or either it has an unusual ridge on the inside. Is that an optical illusion? Breezie

nope not an illusion, there's actually a ridge on both sides of it

Cool find - believe it or not, it looks like one I had made in the 60's - when I was with my ex. I know what happened to that one, though - I flung it as far as I could while driving down the road!!!!

Generally older silver rings will have some corrosion and a gray appearance..my best guess is that your ring is relatively modern..that is less than 30 - 40 years.

Older time period silver used the STERLING marking, sometimes abbreviated STER.

It looks to me like a design that would help you slip it off your finger easier. I agree with the modern age of the ring.

My first thought was a 2 bit wedding ring or spooned ring from the depression era. Im not sure with the .925 mark. Maybe they drilled and buffed out the center and stamped the silver mark. http://www.finkbuilt.com/blog/two-bit-wedding-rings/

Unless you were driving on the road alongside the sand dunes in Long Island, New York, I'm sure its not the same ring!! But, if for some reason, it is - sell it - its really bad luck!!

I noticed something that I missed before, the ring has a seem, a faint one, but a seam the wraps around the band so it is not just a line on one side, if this helps at all. :P

It does look like someone made this ring from something else..maybe a spoon or somethings...really cool thou
