i am a prewar jefferson nickel. u may not think much of me,but i am the oldest coin to be found with any kind of regularity in coin circulation today.since i dont have great value not many care about me.but long ago it was different.glory days.when i was young and shiny.im a name dropper.i hung out with the barber crowd.danced with walking ladies.miss mercury was the gal next door.and the value i had !.why times was: i could buy quite a few nice things all by myself.like loaf of bread,1/2 doz eggs.big candy bars,sody pop,comic book,etc. etc. now im old and battered.i hardly ever see any of my old freinds anymore exc the long lived wheatback brothers.millions of us were made from 1938 to 1942.were still out there doin our job.today nice scrounger found me and put me in his collection.if only i could talk id tell him how nice it was to be found. like the velveteen rabbit ,i have been reborn .for i am valued and loved.
