Did you find this as float? If you follow it to the source you might be able to locate some nice quartz crystals. I think I can see the shine from a crystal face in pic 3......

It was a floater. That’s awesome to know cause we are going back this weekend. I’ll do some searching. Also going back to see if we can get this somehow. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1528843362.550019.jpg Saw this the same area I found the quartz. Wasn’t able to get it then cause a storm was rolling in and had quite a ways to walk. I am still learning. A LOT of info to take in with minerals. Do you know if this is worth risking to get? Is it kidney ore hematite? It’s between two huge boulders and don’t want to get hurt. Best way to remove this from there?

That looks familiar, but I'm not sure. You would probably need a hammer and chisel to get that out. It kind of looks like the "tar" like substance I find on the monzonite boulders here in the Boulder Batholith. I'm not sure what it really is, and I keep forgetting to ask about it when I go talk to my geologist friends......

Not sure. I did tap it with my hammer and it was hard, sounded and felt pretty much the same as if I tapping a rock. But I’m gonna try to get it off this weekend and will let you know. :)
