The 41 merc in this picture is bent from having been used as a screwdriver....but I'll take it anyway. The rosie is a 1952. These finds were made in about 3 hours today. I don't know what the badge hickie is. It used to have a screw back. It came from the old school. The rest of the stuff is from old yards that I've been detecting. I need new territory...those 2 dimes are probably the extent of what's in the last yard I got permission to hunt. That one has produced 7 silver coins...1 half, 2 quarters, and 4 dimes overall.

The oldest wheat, a 1923, was in the same hole with the merc and the 39 nickel.

The temperature jumped all the way to 40 degrees today....and I rediscovered woolrich. I had a 100 percent wool shirt in the closet that I'd never worn and decided to give it a whirl. I can see why sheep wear that stuff. I was toasty warm.

Thanks Ken......It was one of those impromptu hunts. I was surprised that it felt so temperate outside compared to thursday which was blustery and cold.....I just had to go for awhile. It will be frozen solid all too soon. It was a good outing, and I enjoyed it.

Thanks.......I'll have another go at it today.....in some new places hpefully. It's not even 9:00 am and it's already 40 degrees here.

I set this goal for myself...and it's probably out of reach...to find 100 silver coins in the last 3 months of this year. With yesterday's 2 dimes I'm at 83....just need 17 more. The weather will probably shut me down, but I get a shot at adding to that number today if I get to some new places.
