The ball fields have consistently been giving up silver and some other nice finds. See pictures from the last 6 hunts. Button is some type of miliary button, perhaps marine corps. Scovill MFG CO on the back. A really nice coin spill yesterday with 2 standing liberty quarters and a V nickel. The large cent has a hole drilled in the top (must have been worn as a necklace). 26 total silver coins from this site (see previous two posts for the other 10). Plenty of area left to hunt. I don't think this place has been touched by a modern detector. Found out that part of the park used to be a wading pool that was filled in. Not totally sure but I think some of the finds are very close to where the pool was.

Great finds. Beautiful silver. Best of luck in the future.

Uhh..yeah. I don't think it was hit with ANY detector if you are finding quarters. Modern has nothing to do with it.
And this is public property?

Yeah, good point. I just can't believe it has never been hit in the past. It is a very public park in a secondary city in the Northeast. Plenty of information is available about its age on the web. That is how I found out about it. Based on the amount of area I have hunted I think there is at least another 25 silver waiting to be found, maybe more. The remaining areas are trashy so I am hoping the 6x9 sef helps sniff them out.
