How about throwing some carrots and sugar out in area where you want to hunt to concentrate their eating skills? or is that just for horses?

Well think.of it like this u know u will have a spot period to go to come time & itll give u now time to research & or go to others beleive me its nice knowing there is s spot & by the way u describe I dought any other detectors r gonna try it so.no worries on being nothing left for u

Funny you say that no one else will want to hunt it because this land is right beside my house and has had a few detectors on it and suposed to be picked clean. Ive been hunting this place since late April and very rarely come home empty handed. All ive got to hunt so far was where the clover was growing cuz the cows eat it to the dirt. Ive been trying to hunt the tall grass but an hours worth of that will flat wear you out or it does me but it has payed off so far just wondering if any else has hunted these conditions and how they went about it. This is re ally my last place to hunt this summer because of all the crops in the ground.

No place is ever hunted out I just dont think there would even b a way to prove that it was hunted out ya know

Long grass can be a problem. . . however, a 3' x 4' piece of 1/2" plywood (with a an 18" hole in the center)
dragged with a a rope can work wonders in flattening the grass IF you're hell-bent in hunting that area now.

HH!

I agree that no place is hunted out but I didnt think I would do as well as I have. Now the plywood is something to think about

Lol ya the plywood holy sh%t thats an idea wouldnt work for me sites take a good 3/4 mile hike & not carring that but it is a good idea

I dont think I would carry it that far either lol

I would be patience and wait a few more months . Also you might try all Metal and then switch to discrimination--Have Fun. How about a few Pic's

Add a couple of straps to your plywood & carry it like a back pack, if you carry your tools in a backpack when you hunt, cut a couple notches on two corners to hook your backpack straps over. no pain no strain! If there's a lot of trees etc that make it difficult to get a piece of ply through, Grab a couple pieces of carpet. Roll em up. Lay em out stomp em down & hunt another area for a little while. Go back & your grass will be layed down nicely. The plywood trick also works great for muck & mud like lakes & ponds!

If the cattle are eating clover, buy a bale. Take a couple flakes & spread it where you want to hunt. When the cattle run out of easy chow they'll eat the rest. The other good thing is the farmer probably won't mind you feeding his cattle for free.

B'Man, I love your spirit of "Where there's a will, there's a way"....except you found several ways! What about a sling blade? If there were others out there MDing I don't think I would wait until Fall when the grass dies back. That may well be their plan! I was digging a similar property next door to my house and even though the grass was getting higher I was still getting lots of hits. I worked a small patch but the best hits were closest to the street. The neighbors watching and rubberneckers are getting on my nerves. But I love what I'm digging up! Tractor finally repaired and my husband cut the grass. I've been out there after work every afternoon!
