Got out Sunday for a expeditionary hunt with you know who. Just can't seem to shake this guy
Plan "A" was to checkout the River Preserve Park in New Paris, but nothing around there looked to promising. In fact, I think it is most likely a Nature Preserve, so we just drove on by.
Decided to checkout some of the Goshen City Parks and finally made a decision to settle down and hunt one. It took awhile for the finds to start flowing and my ogre hunting buddy walks over with a Silver Smile on his face while I'm getting ready to dig my target. He's holding a nice '42 Merc. in his hand. He stands there waiting to see what I am about to recover when we both see a silver coin in a clod of dirt. Upon first glance we had no idea what it was as it was caked with clay and with a little water from my bottle my second Barber dime (1916) of the year showed its face. About 6 feet away I pulled a Merc. at an honest 9 inches and was on my way to the Silver Dime Tri-Fecta. Sad to say that didn't happen, but we had a good hunt just the same.
The 2 wheats that do not have the reddish tone to them were in the same hole with a nice sized square nail.
The scan with the 11 coins is a combined hunt and is from last Sunday.
Thanks for looking
