Land is really very difficult to find now I am even starting to look at grass fields. Today I visited a area close to home the Cleveland Hills http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cleveland_Hills
I tried a couple of farms were I could see newly drilled fields, but got no joy still the scenery was a joy to behold and such a nice day to boot After what seemed a age I manage to gain permission on a field that had had turnip in, and was surrounded by a spring fed stream.
i detected this field for three hours, but couldn't break the 1700s barrier, a few bits surfaced...lead bale seals, a Huge Harness Buckle and a 20thc Sunderland ferry Token..not bad, didn't get the first coin till I was heading of the field, Vicky farthing then a blank half penny. Near The edge of the fields entrance I finally broke into the 1500, with a Medieval Bronze ring...saved the day
This field might be worth another visit, today was very dry and the signals very iffy, The farmer also said I could try his outher fields after the crop comes in, so well worth the trip
