i live in marinette wisconsin and its hard to find places to detect. where everything is now its like pavement. the onyl history i know about this area is when the indians roamed the menominee river but now there are building along it. ive tried a couple parks but all i get there is garbage or it will show a coin and when i dig theres nothing. i dunno if imdoin something wrong or not. and ive gone to the library but they dont really have anything about history inmy area and ive looked for sites but everysite just tells about the idians roaming the river and fur trading goin on and where would i go to find out the laws formd'in in my area and where its illegal tomd. can anyone help me.

You should check to see if there are any Metal detecting clubs in
your area , if so they will have all the answers for you , also if you
see other people detecting start a friendly conversation and possibly
pick up some useful info , and of course keep reading these forums
who knows maybe one of our members lives close to you

doozis right, hook up with people who've found old stuff in your area. Once you see where they're going (not necessarily exactly where, but the TYPE of spots), then you can find similar spots on your own.
