After looking all over the yard and the easier places to detect around my property I decided to head off into the brush down an old dirt trail. The walk was rather pleasant it was a nice warm day. After about twenty minutes I came to the creek that borders my land so I decided to follow it, further upstream I came to another old trail going over the stream, I decided to find some fallen trees and make a quick bridge just to check out the other side.
WOW!!!! stone foundation no more than 100 yards after crossing, then another, and another, I think there was about 6 also a massive tree surrounded by rocks. Rock piles everywhere, as a kid I remember my nokummos telling me those are cairns used as maps by tribes. others have told me they are just field stones piled up by oxen during the farming days.
The most valuable lesson I learned today was carry spare batteries AFTER 10 minutes and a couple finds my machine shut off leaving me to take the long road home
