Hi Gang,
Wife and I were in Brown Co. Ind Artist's colony this weekend and while wife shopped I got to detect at two old houses in town. Only one good coin a 1941 wheatie! Also found some clad at an old place being redone.
INFO: Check the area below Transom windows over front doors in old houses. An antiques dealer, who refurbs old places, say people placed coins under window for good luck--gold eagles $2 or $5 dollar ones. The more value the more luck.
I also asked to dig at a old house that used to be the toll booth house (see toll window below) from early 1800s. I asked the owner, a lady, in her late 70's. Guess what? She has the same last name as me-Miller. Looking goood! And her son has the same first name as me-Terry. Oh, yes, she will let me dig here; I feel it. And...No she won't, but guess why...lol She detects too and has for 20 years...rofl. But she shared lots of detecting stories and I let her look at my M6. Too fancy for her..lol
The red door is where you used to pay the toll to get on the road through town. The ground was level with the street back then. The big stone was for the ladies to climb up back into their wagons. It split with ice storms.
Well better luck next time. Had a great time though. Wife did her shopping at all the nick-nack stores and I got to detect!
