Came across this on an 1800's farm site. This is the only thing left standing. Kind of halloweeny. It's nice when you can ID bricks.

Great looking stamp on that firebrick, from what I understand, the U.S. didn't have many producers of fire brick during that time period and England and Scotland could compete with the domestic price (ten cents a fire brick) because the bricks worked nicely as ship ballast.
Stamped brick collecting is becoming popular
