Hunter612 finds

I couldn't pass up all of this for $2.50. I like looking through older coin books.

The last Whitman folders I found were full of silver dimes and wheats, literally. Old Red books and Blue books I stopped buying, unless of course it's a special edition or one of the early ones, which I have yet to find.

I never find any folders with coins in them. If they would of sold the folders separate I would have left the books, but they said $2.50 for everything, and I like reading the older books. Some of them are more detailed than newer ones. Happy hunting!

I went to a yard sale this morning and they had some coins in a display case for sale. I ended up with:

3 1964 Kennedy halves for $7.50 each

4 franklin halves for $8 each

4 40% Kennedy halves for $2.50 each

8 Washington silver quarters for $3 each

1 dateless standing liberty for $2.50

I am very happy to add all of this to my stack.

Did you try to haggle with them at all? A little too high for me personally, but not too bad really. I probably would have tried to negotiate a little more on the price for the lot. At least you found some silver for less than melt.

I haggled with them. They were wanting 3 times the amount I paid originally, but I explained that the price of silver was low right now and told them the melt values. Most of the coins look almost uncirculated. Except for the franklins and the standing liberty quarter.
