All Treasure Hunting
hello there everyone,
I would like to introduce myself. I`m a total newb at hunting for relicts and treasures, but I`ve always loved being out there in the nature hunting game and fishing.
Is it possible to find a little something without any major equipment? I might be going to puerto rico next summer and wouldn`t mind looking around for a coin or any kind of relict while i´m there. I might be traveling around the carribbean some more the coming year or the the one after, but i`m not sure yet as to when and where. I`m a total water freak, so best would be if I could do some diving. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks to all in advance,
Paolo

Welcome aboard! You didn't list your state (or country) in your profile. So, you might consider jumping over to Sub-Forums: Select Your Area.... and selecting your state for information (i.e., clubs, hunts, finds, legends, maps, etc.) directly related to your state (or country).

Hello and welcome to the forum! Happy hunting!

Welcome, Paolo! If you can afford it, the Minelab Excalibur II might fit your needs very nicely. It's rated to 200 feet.

Welcome and good luck.
I think you can buy detectors from $50 bucks to $5000 and some a little higher priced than that.

Welcome! I think the only water unit in the $50 range would be a magnet! Depending on your budget, you should be able to find a decent water machine...even if you have to get a used one. The Excalibur is great and has discrimination. A PI machine will work too but usually does not have any discrimination to speak of. A lot will depend on how junky the areas are where you will be detecting and your threshold for putting up with it. Check with our sponsored vendors here on Tnet. They can usually put together a deal for our members.

Hello and welcome.

Hi Paolo, I too am a newbee to this site, tried to reply earlier might have sent a private by accident not sure. My favorite island is Barbuda, West Indies, lived there on a boat treasure hunting several years. Found dozens of wrecks there and lots of cool artifacts. Water in the caribbean is clear, most wrecks sank because they hit bottom, often about 20 feet deep. You can spear fish and watch for wrecks all at once. Look for ballast piles, either rock or iron ballast, cannon and anchors. Mapping Spanish site.webpSwivel gun Pedro shoal.webp
