Went to a beach known for attracting tourists with more money than brains today. Short hunt, maybe a half hour or so. Didn't find a lot. 1 beer can, a piece of slag metal (probably melted beer can), and a 2007 quarter. Brings my total clad count to $0.27! At this rate, I'll pay off the BH in about 30 years. However, I did manage to find a new little spot hidden right in plain sight. No houses, stores, roads or "No Trespassing" signs. Just some overhead power lines to deal with. Time to learn how to use the Disc. knob I guess.

No supposed to hunt on the dunes or even walk for than matter. Something about the turtle inhabitants..

I was going to say the same. You can get into trouble big time. Can be a hefty fine.

lol, :laughing7:

You can't dig in dunes or walk on them that's true. :icon_thumleft: Its not really because of turtles. ??? Most beaches don't get turtles. :dontknow: Its more for the integrity of the dune, they want growth on the dunes so they don't colapse into the water. :read2: They don't want anything that will risk or cause that so they keep people off of them. This way the dunes can keep flood waters back.... :icon_thumleft:

Keep @ it and HH !! :D ;D

I think it depends on where you live !! The United States of AMERICA, the home of the brave and the land of the free!! Or The United States of Apologies. The home of the politically correct and the land of the Bureaucrats !! MaineRelic.

You are correct, but the fines can be hefty due to the destruction of habitat. Here in Florida, there is an endangered species called a Gopher Tortoise that calls the dunes their home.

Let me re-phrase my previous statement. When I say I hunted the dunes, I meant the sand line up to the "Do Not Cross" line, which is right at the base of the dunes. That's where I found the quarter, maybe 6 inches from the sea oats. (Which are illegal to pick BTW). I was not actually on the dunes at any point, I've lived in FL my whole life, I know better than that!
