I was doing some research on my area in order to find good places to go detect. Every year we have a fair in a local park every september, what is funny is that i did not know what it was for. Apparently, this park used to be an amusement park that first opened up in the early 1800's. It then closed in 1960's and every year we have a fair to commemorate the old amusement park. Cha-ching. I had no idea thats what used to be there, i can only imagine the tiny bits o silver waiting to be found. I have seen one person metal detecting there in the past couple years, and he only does it the day after our annual fair. I think he hunts for clad, last year i was there just walking the park and i was talking to him, he said he found about 10 bucks in change in about 2 hrs. I dont remember what detector he had, but im currently trying to get an old map of the park to see what was there and where it was.
