Beach & Shallow Water Hunting
I finally managed to wake up last night at 1am. I've slept through my alarm these last few days, and the day I didn't set the alarm, I wake up right on time. :tongue3: Go figure.

I head back to the beach that's close to my house... as I'm pretty dedicated to pull another gold ring out of this strip of real estate. All she wants to give me lately are the silver rings, and it never fails every time I go to this beach... so MAYBE tonight would prove differently.

The low tide hits at 2:20am or so, and I got there with plenty of time to spare. The beach was vacant and I went straight for the water. I like the quiet time of hunting at night and don't really feel like playing a game of charades on the beach with some Japanese people trying to tell them what I'm doing. It's just easier to hunt alone at night. But here's a picture of the beach during the daytime low tide.... at 0 meters

Within 2 targets, I nailed my first ring... silver of course. Seems the beach Goddess wasn't feeling generous tonight after all.
I tried to start some sort of grid pattern, but without a scoop drag line or good landmarks to follow, I knew I wasn't covering all the area. But it was better than not trying to keep some order to the process.
It wasn't long, and the yen just started leaping into the pouch. I only had to fight a few from their hiding spots, but even then I never abandoned a signal, and I only had to chase 1 around the water a bit. Those lightweight 1 yen coins (made of aluminum) like to move with the water. Jeesh.

About 30 minutes before I called it quits, from the depths of the seabed comes another silver ring.... a mans wide band. Interesting... but it still wasn't gold. :'(

So here's how I fared for a 2.5 hour hunt tonight. 4,072 Yen ($51), 2 silver rings (9 grams), junk bracelet, and a US nickel. BUT WAIT... I think I see some glimmer under the buildup...

The smaller ring is stamped 925, so I know (even after acid tests) that the gold on top is just plated. But the big ring has me wondering. But man... that ring has been down there a while. I did some electrolysis on it for a bit, and that cleaned up a lot of it, but just wound out getting the dremmel on it. It doesn't matter to me... it's all getting melted down anyway :icon_pirat:

After doing some acid tests on it, I find that it clears the 14k test. The inside of the band was so junked up and pitted that I couldn't read anything. So maybe the beach Goddess smiled upon me after all... sort of anyway. She's at least warming up to me a little I think. ;D Hopefully soon she'll let me rob her secret stash.

Thanks for stopping by and checking my post out. May you all not have to work so hard for the gold :icon_pirat: :icon_pirat: Hapy looting to ya
