Hello all,I have ordered a Humminbird 997 from Anchor Express and plan to look for wrecks along the shoals and sand bars near shore,could anybody give me a little advice and maybe a headsup on these units.Thanks,David

Don't waste your fuel unless its flat calm, otherwise the pitching and rolling of the boat will make it difficult to get a usable image to interpret.

The unit works great in less then 30 feet of water. It's a great little unit.

download the emulator tutorial from the hummingbird web site, works like the real unit, you can play with it learn how to use the different functions before ever having turned the real unit on.

got it today,should I remove the old fishfinder or can I run it as well?

only if the frequencies do not over lap, or the transducers are to close to each other they may cancel each other out
