Humble finds from the "Hunted out Park"
My weekend left me with little hunting prospects....so I went back to that old park in the middle of town....the one I have been to 5 times and still have not hunted 50% of the square footage! So, I decided to change the way I detect. I went SLOW and really listened for the iffy/good targets. I was mildly surprised.... I found several decent coins where I know others have gone before me...several times. (I am emberrased to say that I had even hunted one area before!) I almost did not dig two of these coins...they were iffy signals..but I am glad I did...and this will forever change the way I detect! I found a 1916, 1934, and 1951 cents....also 1942, 1945 and 1949 silver dimes. Plus a dollar in Clad! The 1949 dime had a pull-tab directly under it....?? All pennies were 5-6 inches in heavily trash areas...ironically the dimes were only half the depth. One note...I am still very new to detecting and still insist on learning things the hard way! I soaked all my coppers in warm Hydrogen Peroxide...and they are still very dirty....but getting cleaner! GEeezzzz those dimes come out looking wonderful.
Happy Hunting to ALL!
