My dad bought land in east Texas a few years ago and we recently learned it was on old homestead for a cotton farmer. Well, he went back out there today after we had hunted a few weeks ago and hit it again. The phone service is all but gone out there so he managed to shove this photo through! I couldn't believe he got this thing up! The second photo is some of the things from the first hunt! Its all in the woods now and his land has been timbered once before around the 70's or so.

all you need is one more wheel, a little more wood, and you got you some transsssspoortation....
I agree with the THer who said that you have a bunch of good, fun hunting ahead of you. Do you know where the
plantation home stood? If it was a large plantation, then you will probably have some other buildings associated with the
home, plus several outhouses and a huge dump. Keep us posted, please.

The biggest pulltab I seen:/ Once you get rid of all them tabs you gonna find the good stuff for sure. Did it have an out house? Many good days of huntin ahead for ya..

there is an old well on the sight and thats where we think the house was. We have to wait till winter for all the foliage to die off, its way to dense to hunt at the moment. Just a few bare spots between trees where we dug all that stuff up. There is also an old rock formation about 100 yards from the well thats about 10 feet by 10 feet and enclosed on top about 3 feet high. All old rocks. We though about pulling it apart and seeing what it was, maybe on the next hunt! We will be going back out there soon to continue the hunt. That old farmer had to hide his money in the ground somewhere! I will most definitely undate when we go back out again!
