Hubby's First Auction Sale Purchase - So Proud!! $25 paperweights

I'm usually the buyer and he either watches (in worry) or stays at home. Last week, in late celebration of our one year wedding anniversary (though we have been together nine years), my parents took the boys for a week. Mostly we slept (real adventurous people here), but we did hit the auction one night and the beach for some metal detecting (found $2.36 in change and a 925 Mexico Sterling ring).

He beat me to the auction, got his own number and was bidding away til I showed up.

He spent $10 on some comic books and $25 on these paperweights - I'm hoping DIGGUMUP can weigh in here (pun intended).

I spent $435 on a ton of boxed jewelry lots, mostly cufflinks. He nearly fell off his chair when I told him how much I spent.

Found $275 in scrap gold. I bagged up some items for this mornings yard sale - a guy stopped by and bought everything I had for $40....sold a few other odds and ends before he arrived for $8. Works for me!! I listed a fraction of the pieces on eBay and selling (sold) so far - $40, $10, $50...it all adds up! Plus, I really enjoy the "hunt"!

Anyway, any help would be greatly appreciated!

Those are cool!

Those are very, very nice! I'd have gone for them too :)

It's been a LONG day - hubby just pointed out that perhaps my "staging" of the two paper weights with flowers was ummm, a bit phallic!

:laughing7:Yeh I saw that .......but hey!:laughing7:

Yeah, I saw that too!

But, I'm Southern, and we don't talk about that in front of ladies.....

Whatever trips your trigger:laughing7:

They're nice looking. Unfortunately I don't see any with collector value. The ladybug and it's phallic partner (you said it not me, lol) looks like lucite. The others for the most part appear to be Chinese made. I would like to thank you though for this post. I was checking out ebay because I thought the controlled bubble red flower paperweight may have been a "St. Clair" piece but I think they hot pressed a stamp into the bottom where the pontil would have been on all their pieces. Anyway, in the process of looking I came across a paperweight with the same reticulated pattern as a large cylinder vase that I found a while back. The piece is signed but I could never figure out who made it, until just now. So thank you for the ( albeit unintentional) help, lol. I now know that it was made by Tom Philabaum and is worth about $150-$200 from the looks of it. Here is the thread http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/garage-sale-finds/369691-i-went-estate-sale-today.html and the vase-
