I was out braving the cold today and managed to dig this little guy up. The little research I did on it turned up an old link from this forum and a possibility of the Harrington Richardson Firearms Company.

Anyone seen this button before? I was thinking maybe the button could be from a coat the company sold or an ammo pouch or something like that. The back is missing.

Hi Swartzie,

It is probably a long shot but can HR stand for Hamilton Railway of historical Toronto Hamilton & Buffalo Railroad Co?

My thought too....Railway pullman button.

Don't think it's railway because it includes the words 'the' and "Co' in the design which doesn't sound 'railroady". Could it be the Harrington Richardson company?

Do they show the back Charlie? Is it a button or something else?

Bet your right...Went back through Harrington and Richardson Arms catalogs to the 1920's and it never showed that style. Will keep looking.

I cannot see it clearly on the photo. It the word in the top left corner "THE" or "THB"?

Well. I may actually have the back to this button. While going through some of my stuff, I found what appears to be a work clothes button with a stud shank. The same kind you would see on a pair of bib overalls. The button is missing it's front. This stud shank was dug at the same site about 20 feet from where I dug the "hr company" front. The "hr company" front does match up with this back. So, I'm kinda leaning towards a work clothes button.

Thanks for all the great responses!
