I am trying to figure out what this is for a friend on FB. I think I know but I’m not sure. I think it’s a lantern part but the threading and size is throwing me off. What say ya’ll? Hope everyone is finding all sorts of goodies. I had a scare in early Oct and had a non malignant(but big) meningioma removed from the outer layer of my brain. I am doing well now and ready to go detecting ASAP.

I'll bet that was scary. Glad to know your doing better now. I don't know what that thing is other than it looks like vented cap to something. Similar to the function of a gas cap or break fluid reservoir cap.
