Howdy Folks. My name is Gene and I am from Houston, Tx.

I am really glad I found this forum. It is definitely a place I will be comming to for advise and expertise.

I have been wanting to get into Metal Detectors since I was a kid and just never got around to it. A few weeks ago, my 10 y/o Grandson and I were talking about things we could do together. He suggested getting Metal Detectors. I thought about it and told him I would look for one.

A couple days ago, I found one at a flea market and purchased it. Its just a cheap unit, probably not good for much but hopefully will be good for him enjoy for a little while until I see he wants to get more involved. Before we could even use it, I decided I was hooked. After watching hours and hours of youtube vids, seeing how excited everyone was to even find an old penny worth about 2 cents and finding myself being excited right along side of them, I did some research on many makes and models, and decided on and ordered a Garrett Ace 250. I should have it next week.

I really can't wait. I mean really, how often does a boyhood dream really come true....

You might (again) consider browsing Sub-Forums: Texas for information (i.e., clubs, hunts, finds, legends, maps, etc.) directly related to your state.
