Howdy all! originally from Ohio, where metal detecting in the 80s and early 90s was pretty simple at least on public areas. Now that I have moved to Virginia I have found that there is nothing "public" about public property. Still searching out in private land, but the lure of lost change haunts me from the local park, that i or anyone else is unable to hunt. ::BangHead:
Anyways I just got a Bounty Hunter 202 off a fella at work.
Haven't used a detector since the good old Radio Shack needle bouncing critter I used in the 80s, which was made by Bounty Hunter i found out.
So still trying to get the hang of this thing. Really want to get a Garrett Ace 250 or 350. Any thoughts?
Like the disc. ability they offer, just not sure if the extra depth from the better coils will do what I want.
I would love to find some areas that may hold Civil War relics, which I am pretty sure the Garrett's will do better with compared to the BH. But for not coin hunting around old houses and schools the BH seems to get deep enough.
Anyhow, If there are any folks in my area that want to get together and hunt let me know!
Thanks in advance!

Hello and welcome.

Hello from Tennessee , and Welcome to the site

I have the Ace 250,and do just fine with it. The 350 offers better iron discrimination, a higher frequency, and a DD coil.
I really want the AT pro,but $ is a factor right now.
