Must have happened during the hurricane, money was left in a storage unit, in a backpack and the high humidity stained ALL my bills!
I've already tried to wash them in the washing machine, but it did nothing to clean the stains.
Any advice on how to UNstain my bills, or do you all know if my bank would maybe swap out a few thousand..... arghhhhh? IMG_20181207_171939.jpg

You can send all damaged paper money to the Bureau of Printing and Engraving in Washington, DC and they will send you a check in replacement. Just google damaged paper currency and you should find their site. I have done this although I hand delivered it. They say they get hundreds of envelopes a day, I guess lots of folks have similar problems.

Hey Pat, that's still good money. Stay with 'em, they're still spendable :)

Pat: you say a FEW THOUSAND, that's a lot of money sitting in a storage unit, were these bills part of a Collection of some sort? Like MACKAYDON said, so long as BOTH serial numbers are still present, banks should be able to take them.

Oh man, that will never clean up. Its from the Obama and Clinton times, so not only is the filth never going to come off, but as soon as you show that in public or try to spend it, you are going to get a Bill from the Fed. That is what they reduced our money to, face value times 4 in the form of a bill.

best you can do is check the websites snowflake.gov or handout.migranthasyourrights/cal/lib.gov just blame Bush Jr for creating that hurricane as well. Within 24 hours an unarmed, bearded, pink hat wearing Target employee with skinny jeans on will get back with you.

As long as two sets of serial numbers are present on each bill, my bank would take them in any condition.
Don.........
Thanks Don, I've already had one dramaqueen at the bank totally freak out, said it was molded toxic contaminated health hazard.... lol, I wondered how he worked with the public.... :icon_scratch:
I'll maybe try another bank branch, thanks.

Yeah, thanks for that, already tapped themoneyfactory dot com.... I'm looking at a 4 - 6 month turnaround. Kinda didn't want to wait that long, with Christmas coming, ya know.... lol.

Like Don said, another bank, different teller, all went well with that, for some of it....
It's just a bit of a shock to the system, when first discovered, & then the DQ's dang near nervous breakdown at the first bank, lol...
The newer bills had less "absorbtion" than older ones, still...
This may take some time.... lol.

She never stopped, you would be shocked on how fast one can cut the grass with a six foot six black lady chasing em.

No but when I first saw your bills I thought of the UK Black Money Scam. I am sure if you google that, you may find the chemicals needed to wash you cash. I do not remember much about it cause I never worked that, but I remember an agent laughing about cleaning it with an oven cleaner.

Try washing them in DAWN LIQUID SOAP, it removed oil from a ducks back, maybe it will clean currency paper.

Any casinos in your area?.....if so, walk in with a backpack of stained cash, insert into any slot machine and then cash out and you'll get a voucher...……... which is redeemable for clean cash :-)

HH all!

word is the clinton foundation has a high grade for money laundering:laughing9:

This works for cleaning up decks of cards not sure how it will work for you.Get a bag and fill it with cornmeal, shake the bills in it and the cornmeal works as an abrasive and also removes dirt and oils from the paper.Just try one or two to see if it works for you.

Spend um like you stole um.:laughing7:
