How to make letters/numbers stand out

I have recently posted in "Today's finds" thread of my recent hunt. I found an old plow point almost fully intact, but the rust is crazy! I did some research and it may be an Oliver but I don't know how to try and make letters/numbers stand out from the rest of the crap that has taken over the point. I tried a brush and can barely see what I think are numbers. Here's what it looks like. I tried close up pics but that didn't work too well.

Another poster somewhere put flour on his finds and the letters and numbers showed beautifully.
