I am here in York, PA and Baseball was big at the turn of the century. I have searched a couple old fields but haven't really came up with much. I have driven past a couple fields in use and noticed a couple things. Most people sit up the foul lines away from the team benches, should be a good area right? I am thinking all fields are a little different. Seems some that have trees and provide shade might be good areas. Also some with a higher point of view seem to be used frequently.

What are the top three places everyone typically hunts at a baseball field?

Bleachers, snack bar area and outfield

I've often thought about this myself .........that an soccer fields

I guess the best bet would be to observe the sports fields while in use to actually see what areas are used for what, and by whom. Unless you have the time to do a grid search of the field.

Infields are bleak, player only area as are outfields. Search sidelines! Also folks normally sit where they can't get clipped by a foul ball. Then as now. Good luck. Peace

Most of my good finds at ball diamonds have come from first & third baselines and around the backstops. Next along the fence lines surrounding the field.

Last summer I hit an old ball diamond and found a couple silver dimes by turning down sens and getting as closed to the fence as I could. Came as a surprise because never really find much there but it is close and convenient.

Thanks for all your replies!
