Hey guys, I've been metal detecting for 20 years but yesterday I thought I'd give bottle digging a try. I found a very small bottle dump behind my family's house that has a lot of broken glass on the surface. I did find one dr kilmers swamp root remedy on the surface. Anyway, I started a trench about 8 or 10 inches deep and started working my way into it. Not a lot of glass but I was seeing the occasional broken cork top and I found 1 small whole bottle. I'm going to make a probe so that I know where to dig next time. I'd like to keep the bottle tops, so my question is, how can I dull the edges? Also if anyone would like to show me the ropes, I'm in dillon county South Carolina. LOL. Thanks and HH!
