Looks like an old mechanical pencil I dug up today in an old yard...5 inches in length, hexagonal, round top. Not silver or gold. Can't find any writing or ID marks. Any help appreciated.

hard to say, but judging by the rust I'd think it shouldn't be much older than 1960's

It was totally brown when I found it...I cleaned off with steel wool hoping to see a brand name or writing on the side.

LOL! I did see one on ebay that was almost a clone and it actually was from the 30s so maybe
