Hello All,
Wife bought this at a yard sale for a couple bucks and has me intrigued.
I believe it's brass, scratched the bottom to reveal a light copper color as well as the green tint on the outside.
I couldn't find anything resembling this figure but have deduced it is related to the Bowl of Hygieia that goes back as far as 1796. Doesn't seem to be Asclepius (snake around staff) or is daughter (does share snake around wrist)

My questions are, how old? and what was it used for?
I could not recognize / match the name scratched on the back.

It is 13 1/2" tall, almost 6" at the widest and weighs 1 pound 10 ounces.
Embossed detail on both sides.

It’s a small statue of the god Asclepius. Very nice piece to display on a shelf. My guess is that it was bought in Greece by someone on Holiday. They often market them to Doctors / Nurses : Pharmacists etc in little shops.

Here’s one on Etsy:

Thanks, Randazzo, matches nicely.
A variation of Asclepius who was mostly known for the snake wrapped around his sword.
I'll go with that, what do you think for age? What were they selling it for?

Visited the site and it is half the size and sells for $72.94 and the patina is fake.
Supposed to be hand made and resemble Greek archaeological copper alloys and bronzes.

Mine may be the same just larger and faked well. The patina did lead me to believe it was very old.
