How old is my Gold Bug 2?

Any way of determining the year my GB 2 was made? Bought it used and am just curious.
Also . . . will a new 6.5" coil work with an older GB 2?

Find the serial# and then call First Texas and they can likely look it up. Also, if it says someplace on the detector it was made in Los Banos, Ca it was likely built in the 90's.

A new 6.5 loop should work just fine on the older GB2

Thanking you! Main reason to know when it was made is to confirm it's compatibility with older GB 2. It seems to work, but makes more of a "chattering" sounds unlike the 10"
