How old is it?

I found this navy button at an old Naval Hospital location that was opened in the 1830's and closed in the 1970's. I have seen similar buttons, but not the exact one. The similar buttons also have 13 stars, very similar eagle, but the outer rim is different. Those ones date from the 1835-40 range. I have looked all over the internet. but I yet to come across any resources that can get me to narrow down the time frame.
