How old is it?

Found this button today at a house that I have found several pre 1900 coins. the eagle looks like the old style but the back doesent look that old. Is it military and how old is it. Thanks!

I think it's a civilian button made to look military. It was made after 1900 though, because of the back.

I thought it was newer, it was as deep as i have found coins from the 1890's but I could not find any reference to any non military eagle buttons.
