Hard to tell, look up farming hoe, those are stilled used today, the heads outlast the handles which are easley replaced.

Assuming both a made of iron I would say age is contingent on where you found them. I have recovered similar farm tools, highly corroded, from sites dating as early at 1700. Research the recovery site and you will likely find your answer.

They don't look all that old to me. Maybe 30-40 years old. They look more like steel than forged iron.

My thoughts the same... Its true that many metal tools outlast their handles... I have some of my pick ax heads/ pitch forks out in the yard, and it really doesn't take very long to start "looking"old.
But, do look into the history of where you found it... you might find better info on your pieces in particular.

They do not look hand forged, if they were you would see many imperfections, also on the first one I see what looks like remains of paint but I may be wrong, paint would never be on a really old farm tool. They look to be fairly modern, maybe 1940's at the oldest, but I'm guessing 1960's-1990's.

Just my Thoughts, Coinman123
