I spent the day today walking through a large tract of woods near my house. Much of the land is swampy and I found these relics on an island/ridge surrounded by wetlands. Based off of other posts on this site, I’ve learned these buttons are made of pewter but I’m still very interested in knowing their age.

My town was founded in 1714 and there was a settlement in the 1680’s so I would be thrilled if they date from that era. Thank you for your time.

Pewter buttons were popular from 1700 to 1820 then revived in the 1850s. I would date yours to the 1700s.

Beautiful colonial pewter button finds nate.
I'd definitely be investigating that "island/ridge surrounded by wetlands" site more thoroughly.
