How much is a wreck worth?

Is there a way to determine how much a shipwreck is worth, potentially in modern-U.S. Dollars. Say a Spanish ship was carrying 5,000,000 pesos in registered treasure, how much would that compute into modern day dollars. Now of course I realize that most of these ships carried twice as much if not more treasure being smuggled aboard as contraband, but I would just like to keep the estimate conservative. Is there such a formula?? Also how much could a bronze cannon be worth?
