I've found over 100 in clad and I only hunt a day or two a week for an hour or 2 a day. Until recently I think I was the only mder that lived in this town. Yeah we had the passer throughs but only 2 weeks ago its been getting swarmed. 13 years living here never seen anyone, 2 weeks seen 2 groups of 40 + and a guy almost everyday. Come to think of it next time I see that guy I'm going to try and make a new friend lol.
I keep track of what I find and where I found it. Since I started in late April I have about 90 bucks in clad (about 1,800 coins). I found 17 coins under one swing at a tot lot once.
I may still have another month if I am lucky and then I will count my clad. Doubt is more than $40 though if even that and I do know that next year that I won't get that much as I have detected the heck out the two main parks in my area. Most if the MDers in my area don't seem to do the parks much as it is mostly clad but it keeps me happy. I have hit them hard and I know that there isn't much left and those parks hadn't been detected for years. Same with the tot lots as I am sure it will take more than a year or to for them to build up again to the condition there were when I stated detecting them this year. Old coins are pretty rare here and I have only found very few in the 5 months I have been detecting but I just keep detecting on in hopes of finding the big one.
I found me a new spot today and can't wait to go back. As far as a place hunted out not so. Hit the basketball court today for the 4 th time this week and cleaned up again. What you find depends on swing rate, length, angle of coil, ground moisture, battery strength, and all kinds of variables. The edge of parking lots are nice for stuff, well good luck keep your stick on the Ice.
