I pretty much look like I'm going on a safari when I got out,too much equipment.this guy looks like he's the cover for GQ,the metal detecting edition.

Looks like a dude who bought a metal detector because he lost his wedding ring and wants to find it before his wife finds out.

Looks like he is ready for Lawn Bowling, Outdoor Shuffleboard or some kind of Polo

Or! Maybe he is a cruise ship activities director and just fell off the boat.

About the only thing I see that could be improved on is for him to wear long sleeves and a hat.

Down here where 100º is common, you dress light and in light colors with a big hat if you are smart.

Why do you think the peasants of Mexico wore white, loose fitting clothes with big hats and sandals. It wasn’t a fashion statement.

They didn’t nap in the middle of the afternoon because they were lazy

hahahah that's funny! i know when i hunt it looks like i'm going into combat, gotta be ready and old habits from being an ex- army sapper i guess....

i dont judge, but i go no shirt, no sunscreen, big smile for the ladies : ) I kinda get the over the shoulder thing, it is hard to look cool draggin your digger like a caveman goin home from a date, but I still try to look as cool as possible.

That's funny Thanks for sharing. Yes a video would have been great.

I thought that might be it - but finally went and talked to him - get rich scheme
gonna find all kinds of gold with it he thinks - told him that a gold medal was lost in soft sand about 100 yrds south
and he asked me 5 times "where?" - told him "I did not lose it" - but that I was told by a woman that a guy said he lost his medallion
He ran towards that area - Oh - did I forget to tell him - that was 2 yrs ago ?

I'm not sure what you see but this is what I see...

By over the shoulder - I meant he threw the piece of junk he found (think it was a bottle cap) over his shoulder
saw him throw a few other items to the side too
he was also holding coil bout 4-6 inches off the ground when swinging

a thong is all I ever need

I have vowed to never become "territorial" when it comes to hunting the beach, but I do enjoy seeing the folks who have no clue what they are doing.

im not a dry sand hunter - just got out of hot tub at hotel - walked to beach wall and saw this guy - had my gal get his pic
at first I thought - new machine - no apron or scoop - guy lost something (or heard someone else did ) and ran and bought cheapest machine he could find
so I walked over cause if he indeed did lose something - would have ran and grabbed my machine and helped
Nope - just out for the gold - it's easy - isn't it everybody?

I ran into a guy like this once, nice guy, he was hunting the upper beach with much the same dress and setup. So as I was preparing to depart the beach we finally ran across each other. When we finally met and talked a bit he showed me the coins and the nice gold ladies ring he had found. I didn't have even a silver ring to show him. :laughing7:
