How many of you take the time to go through quarter boxes. The beginners guide says they dont really produce, however I seem to find them the most of all silver in the wild(not in boxes). I guess the large amounts minted make them a hard coin to search via box.

What do you all think? Any experiences?

I only do Quarters at the end of the day if I can't find enough Dimes or Halves to search. 3 skunk boxes, but I've gotten a Silver Washington and a 50% Canadian before in 2 separate $100 batches.

I found a 1937 in about $250 searched. I'm a teenager so I only have about $650 to work with. I'd much rather buy a $500 box of halves than quarters and normally spend the rest on nickels to try and finish my Jefferson set from circulation.

If I had more capital, I might get a box every so often, but as it is there are other boxes that I would rather get.

I gave up after 4 or 5 boxes. They just seem like an expensive way to get skunked. I would rather get 2 dime boxes or 1 half box instead. However if your itching to hunt and no dimes or halves are available, might as well enjoy a little self inflicted skunkery :laughing7:. Then again, You might get lucky.

I really do want to start doing quarters, but the tellers already hate me enough for dumping my halves. Haha. I want a full roll of each silver coin.

This year, I have done 2 quarter boxes, both skunks.

I was doing 1k each week in quarters until the 2011 dimes went away and while giving the halves a rest. I searched a total of 20 boxes and wound up with 4 silver washingtons (1 per every 5 boxes). Now that the 2011 dimes are gone in my area I dropped the quarters like a hot rock lol

I have done two boxes to look for 2011 quarters from my collection, no silver. I plan to continue to check one box every 2-3 months for current issue quarters and I hope to get lucky.

I've searched through some washer and dryer quarters, about $350 a week for the past 3 years and found about 3 silvers along with a few foreign coins.

I've done about 10 boxes of quarters and have got 6 silvers. 3 were in the same box and 2 were in another, with only 1 box with 1. One of the silvers in the box with 3 was a 1927 Standing Liberty ;D
