You get about 40hrs on duracell batteries on the MXT and the pro should be the same unless you are using the backlit display which someone may chime in on how much time you get when using the backlit display. HH

A lot depends on the temperature of the batteries. Using the backlit display will shorten the run time but I can't say how much. Using rechargeable batteries is not recommended and NIMH packs are different.

pin pointing chew up your batteries along with the back light
head phone save your batteries
the mxt is a power house with out a shorten battery life
my uncle has an ace 250 he chews threw batteries like there going out of style
and doesn't get half the dept as my mxt does
40 plus hours on 8 aa with an mxt
not to many detectors out their can say that....

During the last couple years that I was using my MXT on a regular basis I was using the nimh packs along with the Whites Charger and cradle that I acquired with accessory coupons and they last a very long time for rechargeable batteries. Since I bought the V3i the battery packs don't last near as long as they did in the MXT but I really like my V3i.

Well GibH you just remind me that i make up battery packs for everything else.
I have a lot of hobby experiance so using a lipo with a Demtion enginering adjustable voltave regulator is an idea.
Then you would never have a voltage drop and run forever.
You could also keep it at the recommended voltage with out ever having a voltage drop.

Or pick the winner and go with the Most Powerful Longest Lasting Lithium-ion Batt Packs For Metal Detectors that you also recommend.

WOW What a great response from you guys.
Thankyou

Hey Giant056 maybe you should come down and stay with me and hunt the beach this summer in Pensacola, i only live 5 min from it. Air museum is 30 min from me also. V3i should clean up pretty good. I hear stories of the coin's washing up on beach from some of the recent storms.
