Well, after 2 1/2 years with my first MD, a Garrett Ace 400, I've decided to upgrade to a NOX 800. Found good deal, no tax, no shipping, and 15% military discount. Funded $500 of it from my 2 1/2 years of quarters and dimes, all clad. Keeping my halves, dollar coins, and two rings, one gold and one SS w/gold inlay. Four jars in back 400 quarters each, two on left in front, 500 dimes each. paltry 140 nickels. It's been fun, hope I can do as well or better with the NOX. BTW, not one of these was silver. unnamed.jpg

This is exactly what I hope to do, i.e. fund my next detector with my finds. I doubt I'll be as successful as you, though.

$500 in quarters and dimes in 2&1/2 years? I need to get me one of them Garrett's.

Well done!!!

AHHH... ARGGG....one of the quarter jars was one quarter short, one dime was Canadian. $499.65.

Well done cougar, and thank you for being able to use a military discount.

The thanks goes to Minelab for offering it to vets and active duty. Not many do.

My nox paid for it self 10 times so far in gold and diamonds in the 6 months I have had it it’s really a great machine !!!!

Cougar, Congrats to you on the new Nox. You really did well in such a short time to pay for the Minelab. I wish you as much success with the new Minelab as you had with the Garrett. I also want to Thank You for your service.

New Nox 800 came today!!! Putting it together and getting acquainted tomorrow, hitting the park Saturday. Not to fear, old Ace 400, you're not abandoned, take you out from time to time.

Congrats on the new detector. You did it the right way. Good luck when you take it out!
