i usually just throw all my aluminum in one bucket. but this time i have a lot of cast aluminum. do you guys separate your normal aluminum from the cast aluminum? is there any other grades of aluminum that i should look out for?

Yes seperate the cast alum or you will get a big deduction for it.

Extrusions ( shapes ) are generally in the 6xxx series
diamond plate is 3003
smooth plate mill finish can cover a wide range but good quality stuff is 5052
as the number goes up the formability goes down, so the 3xxx stuff will bend easy and not crack in general fabrication.

You have to seperate. Many different types with different payments...cast, sheet, extrusion, cans, signs, etc. Sort it if you can.
