Brand spanking new to the hobby, still looking for time to learn my machine (Equinox600), I wonder, when you do find coins, how do you find out what they're worth?
Do you go online, is there a favorite place that pays "more" than others or at least, trust more than others?

How about jewelry?

Do you use a DIY kit to test the gold/silver/platinum?
Do you take it to a pawn shop? Jeweler?

When it comes to U.S. currency, where would I go to find out, what's valuable and what's clad?
???

Thanks!

Get yourself a Redbook and you will have most values at your fingertips. Remember they will all be dug coins and inrough shape exempt silver and gold. You may need to get things tested from time to time and a local coin shop shouldn’t have any problems helping you out. Otherwise I would just post your find up here and Learn as much as quick as possible! Best of luck! Hope that helps!!

What they said. First, get a redbook, then on Ebay, check the SOLD listings (found on the left hand side, scroll down), that will show you real world sales, not imaginary sales.

For clad coins if you rub them on the sides you will see a ring of copper The date on the coin is also a good way to tell IMG_1378.jpgIMG_1378.jpg

Thats what i do the sound also dead guve away
