does anyone know how to find the carat on a rose quartz ?? is it by weight or size ??

Tiger, Is it a cut stone or a chunk of rose quartz?

"Carat" is measured by the weight of a gemstone, either cut and polished like faceted stones and gem quality cabochons, or a piece of rough gem material. If you were to line up a variety of cut stones that are all 1 carat stones, they may all be different sizes, depending on their individual specific gravities.

Other forms of gem material that are not considered facet grade, such as tumbling grade material or most material used to make cabochons are weighed in grams , ounces or pounds.

wow that means i have a 720 caret Rose Quartz i wonder if i can find someone that can help me facet it or cut it to a nice gem ??

Anyone know a good Gemstone cutter in WA or OR ??
