How do I find old foundations?

Hey guys I'm lookin all over the net for maps of my town..old old maps preferably. There's a lot of farm fields here now. Hoping I can find where a foundation has been plowed into a field. Can any of you point me in the right direction or to a web site I can look at some old maps on??

straight lines are not natural...mostly...

google earth...
sit still in someplace you think is a good place to live...{in the woods,desert..ect} dips an bumps are signs of activity...

For basic research I use the following:

MyTopo: Historical Topographic Maps

Old Maps Online

eHistory at OSU | Official Records: Atlas

Theme Index HTML Title

Virginia Antique Maps and Historical Atlases - Historic Map Works

Also check to see if the county you are searching has a online "GIS" map site, most of the time they have a layer that shows "Historical" property. At a min. they will give you date built.

I myself use historicmapworks.com buddy of mine showed me click on the Basic 1 its free & plenty of maps all very old
