How can you spot a fake chinese coin

If it sticks to a magnet it is definitely fake, however make sure it is the coin and not the staples in the holder that are sticking.
 

One thing that stands out on the Chinese counterfeits are the weak and non-uniform dentils (those hash marks around the inside rim). They seem to use weak or loose collars in their coin presses and that's the first area to suffer. Most modern (read legal) coining operations have state of the art equipment that produces uniform results (in most cases). Looking at your coin, I would question it's authenticity.

The amazing part is I brought the coin to some Chinese people I know and they told me the coins were real and over 100 years old. But I know they are not real because they failed every test. They are magnetic I have a ton of them, they look like they where made a year ago not hundreds.

oh well I could have been rich lol.
